SAR Mission: "The Sons of the American Revolution, SAR, honors our Revolutionary War patriot ancestors by promoting patriotism, serving our communities, educating and inspiring future generations about the founding principles of our Country."
Who We Are: The Sons of the American Revolution, SAR, is the largest, #1, male lineage organization in the United States and consists of 50 state-level societies with more than 590 local chapters, several international societies (including Canada, France, Germany, Spain, and an International Society), and over 37,000 members. Prominent SAR members include sixteen U.S. presidents, U.S. senators and representatives, local business and community leaders, as well as foreign dignitaries such as Sir Winston Churchill, and Kings Juan Carlos I and Felipe VI of Spain.
The Sons of the American Revolution, is a "service" society with membership "lineage" requirements. This means each member has traced their family tree back to an ancestor who supported the cause of the American Independence during the years 1775 to 1783. Are you eligible? The SAR Objectives of this Society are declared to be patriotic, historical, and educational;
We do all this by perpetuating the stories of patriotism, courage, sacrifice, tragedy, and triumph of the men who achieved the independence of the American people in the belief that these stories are universal ones of man's eternal struggle against tyranny, relevant to all time, and will inspire and strengthen each succeeding generation as it too is called upon to defend our freedoms on the battlefield and in our public institutions.

"We, the descendants of the heroes of the American Revolution who, by their sacrifices, established the United States of America, reaffirm our faith in the principles of liberty and our Constitutional Republic, and solemnly pledge ourselves to defend them against every foe."
"Until we meet again, let us remember our obligations to our forefathers whom gave us our Constitution, the Bill of Rights, an independent Supreme Court, and a nation of free men."
