Compatriots, Daughters and friends:
I hope you all made it through the "Big Ice Storm of '26"
unscathed! I, for one, am looking forward to spring.
Things are looking up for the Edmund Terrill Chapter! At
our January meeting, our State President, Mel Oller, installed
our new officers for their two-year terms. I am thankful for
those who are stepping up to serve. Please help me to welcome
them as your officers. There is always much to be done. Three
young men have been approved as new members of the Edmund
Terrill Chapter, and we look forward to inducting them into our
Chapter at our next meeting on Saturday, March 21st. They are
the future of our Chapter and the Sons of the American
Revolution, so please welcome them, get to know them, and make
them feel at home!
Our TXSSAR Annual State Convention is coming soon! If
you would like to attend, it will be held in Austin, Texas on
April 15th-19th at the Austin Southpark Hotel, 4140 Governors
Row, Austin Texas 78744, Phone: 512-448-2222. Reservations for
the hotel are open, but registration for the Convention itself
should be online soon on the State Society website under
"Events". It's always enjoyable and educational, and it's great
to mingle with other Sons of the American Revolution outside of
the Edmund Terrill Chapter. I plan to attend and would love to
see some other ET Compatriots there!
Our speaker for the March meeting is Pat Thibodeau. She
spoke at our meeting in July of last year. I was unable to
attend that meeting, but I have heard Pat speak before for other
Chapters. She is always educational and entertaining! Her March
program will be "Bad Girls of the Revolution". Please make plans
to come and hear her. Bring your spouse, your family and your
friends. They are always welcome! I also extend this special
invitation to our DAR Sisters to join with us and hear one of
their own! It should be fun! I hope to see you all there!
