Texas Society SAR Dues & Transfers

Texas Society SAR Dues:
Payable annually by Year-End, unless you've chosen the
Perpetual option.
Check out the Perpetual fee as it was revised slightly downward a few years back.
Remit dues after October 1st and prior to year-end via Texas SAR online, which accepts PayPal or Credit Card;
or by U.S. mail.
Note: Remittances after October 1st are credited for the following year.
If postmarked after year-end NSSAR considers you delinquent,
NOT in good standing, where reinstatment is required! Please avoid a late payment,
but a late payment is better than no payment and please avoid the need for a reinstatment.
Your National Society member number required! If you don't know it, perhaps we can assist.
For Texas SAR members in good standing:
- Use the Texas SAR Dues Invoice mailed to you and follow its instructions.
It was mailed to your last known postal address.
- Or use the Texas SAR Online Dues & Donations payments method.
Note: Each chapter may have their own dues rate, they are not all the same.
Be sure to select the primary chapter for the coming new year! The payment total will include the National Society,
Texas Society and Chapter fees.
Other donation fees are available, including Dual Chapters, Special Membership Categories,
Unrestricted Donations and Specific Award programs.
One payment should handle all your needs. The total may be remitted via PayPal or Credit Card.
If you experience a browser error about Popup Blockers, follow the simple online instructions to disable your browser Popup Blocker
prior to restarting the Texas SAR online payment form. Once completed, re-enable your Popup Blocker as you may desire.
- Or reprint your Texas SAR Dues Invoice and mail with a check.
To reprint, access the Texas SAR private site, Members tab and select Dues Invoices.
Contact a chapter officer for private site access information.
This will automatically assign your primary chapter of record.
Enscribe with any notes applicable (dual chapter(s), change of address, change of chapter, etc.).
The top section is for your records and includes your new year membership card. The bottom section is for mailing.
As always, please revise your contact information, make your intentions clear.
Mail the invoice and a check to the address indicated.
For Texas SAR members NOT in good standing:
- If a year or less of inactivity, then remit using either of the above methods as if you were in good standing.
- Otherwise, use the Reinstatement form 0918 below the same as Chapter Transfers below within the Texas State Society
and contact our Chapter Secretary for assistance.
Transfer from Another State Society:
Contact the our local Texas Chapter Secretary to assist with transfers.
As always, please advise your current contact information and make your intentions clear.
A. Current Member:
B. Inactive Member (delinquent dues):
Using the above form:
- Save it to your PC first then fill out the top portion and print it,
or print it blank and write-in your information.
Indicate your old State Society & Chapter and our Texas Society & Chapter.
- Send the top completed with signature form (email or postal) to your old State Society Secretary with instructions
to return it to you or our Texas Chapter Secretary.
- Once received by our Texas Chapter Secretary, he will:
- Double check all is completed and determine the total dues.
The Texas dues will be the Texas Society portion and Chapter portion.
- The NSSAR portion will be dependent upon if you were current with your old State Society dues.
If not, the old State Society may have their own dues requirement.
- Request a copy of your approved SAR Application "record copy".
Another $10 fee can be avoided if you have a copy of your approved SAR Application "record copy".
- Request one check payable to "Texas SAR".
- Make a chapter copy of all documents and forward all to the Texas State Secretary for processing.
- Once our Texas Society Secretary receives all forms and check, he will:
- Forward the check to our Texas Chapter Treasurer for deposit.
- Process the form, and
- Forward it to National SAR for processing.
- It may take a few weeks for him to complete.
Once complete, your membership should appear on the next Texas State Roster with our Chapter.
Transfer of Chapter within the Texas State Society:
A. Active Member, or Inactive for less than a year.
- Access the Texas SAR private site, via Members tab and select the
Member Chapter Change Request Form.
- Contact a chapter officer for private site access information.
- Your National Society member number is required.
Fill out the form selecting both the chapter you wish to leave and the chapter you wish to transfer to.
FYI: your new primary chapter will be indicated as such on your next Texas SAR Dues invoice in the fall.
- Some chapters require a copy of your approved SAR Application record copy.
If so, a $10 fee can be avoided if you already have that record copy.
Otherwise, only new chapter fees are necessary and they can be remitted by either of the
Texas Society SAR Dues methods above or give a check payable to "Texas SAR" to
our Texas Chapter Secretary for him to handle your Texas Chapter transfer.
B. Inactive Member, for over a year.
- Access the online
form 0918
- Use the reprint your Texas SAR Dues Invoice method above ensuring your desired primary
Texas Society Chapter is indicated.
In other words, pay your National Society, Texas Society and desired Chapter dues,
provide the reinstatement form, and you will be reinstated.
- Some chapters require a copy of your approved SAR Application record copy.
If so, a $10 fee can be avoided if you already have that record copy.
- Remit the dues by the top section above.
- Give the completed forms and a check payable to "Texas SAR" to our
Texas Chapter Secretary for him to handle your reinstatment and Texas Chapter transfer.
Simple Member Contact Information Change:
For Address, Phone or Email revisions:
- Access the Texas SAR private site, Members tab and select the Member Contact Change Form.
Contact a chapter officer for private site access information.
- Your National Society member number required! If you don't know it, perhaps we can assist.
- Enter all your contact information, even the parts that did not change.
- Place a check mark next to those parts that did change.
- Press Submit. Be assured the Texas SAR Secretary and NSSAR Staff will be notified of the changes.
